Beyond Art is a collection of poems and paintings in book form created during the COVID pandemic lockdown by Afaf Zurayk in design collaboration with Rami Saab. Zurayk’s poems reveal the deeply introspective nature of quarantining and of discovering one’s character in isolation. In a world that is constantly rearranging, friendship and love endure to pave the way for a more hopeful future. Zurayk’s poems and paintings thoughtfully intermingle and lead the reader through an exquisite, non-linear, and emotional narrative that captures the sentiments of the moment.
