Heba Amin is a visual artist from Cairo, Egypt. She participated in many group exhibitions since 2000 and won an award by the Center of Arts in Cairo.
Living is a part of a series created during quarantine and is different from the work she had been creating before. Without access to her studio space during the months of quarantine, her home took on the duality of being a workspace, as well as a source of inspiration. She was forced to work on a smaller scale, employing materials she had on hand to make collages. As revealed in the thoughtful details of her work, such as an open book on a low table and the iridescent texture of the walls, Amin’s time in quarantine sparked an appreciation for the not often observed elements of a home.
