b. 1954, Muharraq, Bahrain; lives and works in Bahrain
Ebrahim Bu Saad’s artistic passion lies in modern art and calligraphy. Employing a wide range of techniques and tools as a calligrapher, Bu Saad skillfully integrates Arabic letters into his artwork, transforming them into lyrical compositions that enhance the overall visual impact.
In The Lovers, he draws inspiration from the profound connections between men and women, who shape society through their deep affection, admiration, and genuine love. He captures scenes from authentic old neighborhoods and the close-knit communities that come to life in the company of traditional Bahraini fishing boats navigating the ancient city of Muharraq in Bahrain. In his work, he features women, birds, and musical instruments, paying homage to their unique and elegant contours.
Bu Saad is a founding member of the Bahrain Art Society. His work is exhibited at prestigious institutions and private collections internationally, such as the National Museum of Bahrain, Modern Art Museum of Qatar, National Museum of Sharjah, and the British Museum in London. He established The Busaad Art Gallery in 2014. He is recipient of a number of distinguished awards including The Golden Leaf Award at the GCC Exhibition (1992 & 2006) and First Prize at the Emaar Art international Convention, Dubai (2005).
