An eternal dreamer, her work lies between melancholy and poetry and seeks to transmit an atmosphere inspired by her internal universe. In her featured series The New Romantics, Hatimi focuses on Moroccan masculinity, which she approaches with a certain dreamlike romanticism. In particular, Hatimi reflects on her experiences buying flowers in Morocco and her interactions with the sellers. In this series, she lengthened these brief interactions through photo sessions in which she would ask the boys to pick their favorite flowers and imagine who they would like to give this flower to and how. They then modeled the way they thought best reflected their feelings.
Hatimi’s work has been shown at festivals and venues including PHotoESPAÑA, Madrid, Festival PhotoSaintGermain, Paris, and Musée Mohamed VI, Rabat. Her photographs have been featured in publications including El País, Mille World, Float Photo Magazine, and CNN Arabic.
