Moza Almatrooshi examines Arabian Peninsula mythologies and their relation to nation-building. This culminates in fictions and metaphors derived from regional food production practices as well as food politics. In 2019, Moza earned a culinary arts diploma from Dubai’s ICCA in 2020 and a MFA from the United Kingdom’s Slade School of Fine Art. Her artworks were performed in London’s Victoria & Albert (V&A) Museum; selected by the ICA as well as BBC for the New Creatives project; and displayed in the second Lahore Biennale. Her writings are published in ArabLit Quarterly and by Cairo’s Contemporary Image Collective. She is currently a faculty fellow in the Sheikha Salama Emerging Artists Fellowship in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
